WED 3rd Jan | Dumyat (Stirling) - a prominent little hill at the western end of the Ochils. On a clear day it offers spectacular views over the Forth Valley. It can be easily climbed by its southeast shoulder or by a more interesting route by Warlock Glen through an impressive gorge to the summit. | 57 | DK | 9:00 |
SAT 13th Jan | Meall na Fearna (Loch Earn) - is an eastern outlier of Ben Vorlich, its summit rising above a rather boggy, knolly plateau. Approach from Glen Vorlich. 12km, 750m ascent and 5 hours walking. (Note 8am start not previous 9am) | 51/57 | AMcL | 8:00 |
SAT 27th Jan | Dalmally (Munros & Corbetts) - a selection of Munros and Corbetts; to be decided on the day. Expect a full day out (5-6 hours + ) in Winter conditions. Ice axe and crampons essential. | 50 | NH | 7:00 |
Sun 11th Feb | Beinn Oss & Beinn Dubh Craig - starting at Dalrigh. Winter walk with boggy path on the approach, higher up the going should be drier but likely to be snow covered so ice axes and crampons required. The ridges are broad but rocky and undulating with crags. Distance around 18km, time for walk 7-8 hours. | 50 | AB | 7:00 |
SAT 17th Feb | MMC Annual Dinner - Douglas Park Golf Club (date change) | G61 2TJ | RW | 19:30 |
2nd- 4th March | Aviemore weekend | 36 | NH | |
Sun 18th Mar | Crainlarich (Cruach Ardrain) - Initially through the forest and then up onto 'Grey Height' and on to the summit. A round trip of approx. 7.5 miles, 4 hours. It would be a shame not to do Beinn Tulaichean also, and this would add 2.8 miles and another 1hr 40min. Remember, the hills are in full winter conditions, ice-axe and crampons required for this trip. | 50/51/56 | JB | 7:00 |
SAT 7th April | Ardgour corbetts - The Corran Ferry gives access to Ardgour and Morvern, where there are a host of Corbetts and Grahams to climb. Whichever hills are selected, going is generally quite rough on mostly trackless ground. | 40 | RW | 7:00 |
