Rhinns of Kells - This is one of the classic Galloway hillwalks.  A Superb 21k 1250m ascent/descent following the long undulating ridgeline over the peaks that make up the Rhinns of Kells, from Coran of Portmark in the north to Meikle Millyea in the south. To do this cross walk we need two cars and two groups.
One group starts from Carsphairn in the north and walks south.  The other group starts from Forest Lodge in the south and walks north. We meet halfway to hand over car keys.  A challenging but extremely rewarding high level ridgewalk with fine, rugged views westwards to the Merrick and the Awful Hand.
