log 3 Jan 2012

Wind speeds of 95 mph were reported from Glasgow Airport, and the M74 was blocked (also some of our local roads).   So the planned walk in the Wanlockhead area was not going to happen, but read on….
5 gathered in the carpark ...one wearing a hard hat and it wasn’t Radley (the dog).
Dave K sent us on our way and went home to protect his possessions from the fearsome wind.
We { Fraser, Derek McG, Kevin and I } dragged Sue out of her bed...after we had frightened away 'the big bad wolf that had been huffing and puffing outside her house since the early hours' (her story not mine.)   We nearly called you too Allan.
Then the five of us walked up to the cafe at Mugdock (closed no electricity) so we resorted to drinking whisky on the bench in the sunshine before heading back to a very welcoming Ailsa and more cake and whisky and tea.
A great wee walk.    Lots of newly fallen trees everywhere.
