REST AND BE THANKFUL - 27 JANUARY 2013

Alex Maclennan, two retrievers, Drew Crawford; John and Eunice from the Kirkintilloch Club and Fraser set out at 7am on a warm (for January) Sunday.

High wind and driving rain, as forecast, all the way to the Butterbridge carpark.
No one fancied a summit, even although we could see Beinn Ime.
The recent snow was melting rapidly from the hills.

We walked and chatted along the track in Glen Kinglas that leads to the back of Ben Vane.
Driving snow coated our rucksacks and backs on the way out.
We finished the morning with a visit to the Tarbet Tearoom.

A short day, 6 miles and 2 1/2 hours, but the best we could manage given the weather and snow melt.
