STOB BINNEIN SATURDAY 22 SEPTEMBER 2012

KEVINíS LAST MUNRO
A later start (8:00am) was the order of the day on this my last unclimbed Munro.

12 people including: 9 members: Kevin, Andy, Allan, Donald, Noelle, John, Fraser, Bill, Derek McG, and Ron along with Kevin's brother Chris, son James and friend Matt. 4 cars were used to transport us 3km east of Crianlarich and parked near Ben More farm.

Jim and Shirley McKenzie along with Ian G had arrive 15 minutes earlier as Ian intended climbing Ben More first and were heading north later that day..
Headed up the Ben More track at approx. 09:15. ....Ron decided to† 'peel off' at this point to follow Ian who was heading for BEN MORE and we would meet up at the Bealach later.

The rest of the group followed the track south along the line of the Ben More burn until it disappeared and then traversed east towards the Bealach-eadar-dha Beinn at 862m. The group gathered here until everyone (all 16) had arrived allowing time for some food and photos.

We then headed south following a well worn track towards the summit of Stob Binnein (13:00), where Dave K (now 17 in total) miraculously appeared (apparently he got the start time wrong by 30mins) nevertheless delighted to see him...
Kevin uncharacteristically held back at this point to allow all other members to form an advance guard with raised walking poles through which Kevin passed on his way to summit his final Munro.

The champagne and whisky was then produced for the now traditional celebrations and 'short' speech by Kevin.
Some great photos to mark the occasion and we all headed down by route of ascent.
Back at cars by approx 4pm. Headed to Crianlarich Hotel for more celebratory drinks and back at Bearsden / Milngavie by 6pm.

Party at Kevin's until the wee small hours.
Thanks to ALL for a memorable and great day.†† Even the weather was fantastic.
