The Black Mount traverse - Saturday 12th Aug 2017

The Black Mount Traverse is a Scottish mountaineering classic - four Munros, 21km and 2,300m of ascent.
Rob W and Steve M left Milngavie shortly after 7am in two cars, leaving one at Glencoe Ski Centre before driving back to Victoria Bridge.

In glorious sunshine, they set off for STOB A' CHOIRE ODHAR at 09:45, reaching the summit in 1.5hrs. Summit was clear but clag and drizzle soon descended.
Luckily this cleared after 10mins and perfect conditions - broken high cloud, light winds and plenty sun - were enjoyed the rest of the day (apart from the last 20mins).
STOB GHABHAR was quickly ticked off following a brief traverse of "the other" Aonach Eagach.
The route to CREISE, via Clach Leathad, was a wee bit of a trudge but allowed for some short scrambling sections (which were all easily avoidable).
MEALL A' BHUIRIDH also gave the opportunity for a wee scramble.
A new, bulldozed mountain bike track - part of the Glencoe Resort - was picked up shortly after leaving the summit.
It wound its way through the skiing infrastructure, which is quite ugly and industrial-looking without the snow, back to the car park.

It was showery on the walk out but it couldn't spoil a magnificent day.
Back at the car for 17:45, and then Victoria Bridge shortly after.
