Log 10 May 2008

10th May 2008

On Sunday 4 “stay at homes” decided not to stay at home as Jim, Shirley, Kevin and Laurence headed up to Spittal of Glenshee.

We left the car at Dalmunzie Hotel at 10, to follow the track all the way to the summit of Glas Tulaichean 1051m. A short descent north allowed us to pick up the path which took us to Carn an Righ 1029m. High cloud and some low cloud limited the views but we were still able to enjoy the panorama in most directions, particularly Beinn a Ghlo to the SW. We followed the same path back to the beallach before Loch nan Eun, descended down to Gleann Taitneach to pick up another good track back to the hotel. We met 4 cyclists who had left their bikes at the end of the track – unfortunately they got to their bikes before we did, so it was a good hour back by foot to the hotel by 5.15.  A beer at Bridge of Caly finished off the day.
